Tosibox Cellular System
- REELEX defines 3 components of the system: Tosibox, Ignition, and the Database
- Tosibox is an industrial VPN gateway and router that, in our architecture, uses cellular to communicate back to Reelex HQ. It is configured for compatibility with Reelex equipment (only) and then placed on the machine.
- The data is being polled by Inductive Automation’s SCADA platform ‘Ignition’. The datapoints are all stored in an SQL database. History is always preserved and never deleted. Both Ignition and the database are hosted onsite at Reelex HQ, in Patterson, NY, USA.
- The components are segmented through the use of a dedicated network, separate hardware and virtual machines, and VLANs.
- The system is read-only. The HMI accepts input via touch screen and from the customer-dedicated network port but does not support writes from the Reelex network.
- The datapoints we collect include machine identification information and parameters of each coil produced to validate production run volumes.
- Only Reelex personnel have access rights to the data and the mechanisms that support its collection.
