Quick-release mandrels allow users to change mandrel sizes in less than a minute. To switch between REELEX and spools, operators swap shafts quickly and easily. When running REELEX, the operator simply moves the gas shock assisted endform into position. Running spools? Simply leave it out of the way.
When running spools, the operator simply installs a custom-made shaft built to your spools’ dimensions. The traverse is set via touchscreen and the parameters are saved to a recipe for later use. Swapping the traverse program between linear and REELEX patterns is done via a software toggle on the HMI.

The S320e allows the user to make reels, spools, REELEX, or linear coils all on one machine via a programmable variable traverse. Bolt-on custom shafts accommodate a variety of spool sizes, and quick-change mandrels allow a wide variety of cable sizes to be wound in REELEX.
The S320e is designed from the ground-up with a focus on safety and ease of use. Featuring an ISO standard safety design, physical safety cage, interlocks, and safety PLC, the S320e can be used safely by experienced and novice operators alike.

The S320e features a unique programmable traverse allowing the user to adjust width, center point, and wind type via HMI. Linear, multi-count, and REELEX coils can be accommodated without changing traverse hardware components.
Various shaft diameters can be custom made for the S320e to accommodate different spool requirements. In addition to custom shafts, a standard REELEX shaft is included. This allows mandrel sets to be quickly swapped via a quick-release lever.
The key to creating precise REELEX coils is controlling the tension as the product is wound. Every REELEX machine includes a specially designed lightweight ring-sheave buffer system to maintain even tension, create a precise wind, and ensure high-performance cable is handled with care.
All machines come standard with 15″ sheaves for high performance products such as Category 6A and Fiber Optics.
The REELEX Winding Module used in G3 and G4 controls is now paired with more readily available components ensuring minimal downtime and minimizing supply disruption risks.
Spindle motors are AC and use industry-standard drives. Controls are easy to work on and troubleshoot, with most information accessible via HMI.
New adjustable wire guide offers superior coiling precision, less wear, and has the added benefit of improved twisted-pair cable performance test results.

All REELEX machines feature dual-channel safety devices to control hazardous energy sources and prevent unexpected startup.
All machines are designed from the ground-up using ISO best practices and conform to CE and UL requirements. This includes the use of safety cages and automated safety doors when possible.
All electrical components adhere to modern safety standards. Use of AC motors and drives and 24v controls reduce safety risk.
Physical safety guards are integral to the machine design, and remove the operator from any risk areas during operation.
In unison with a REELEX-built motorized payoff and buffer/dancer, a S320e line will run up to 400 feet (122m) per minute. At this rate, the S320e will produce up to 20 packages (1,000 ft (305m) length) in an hour depending on operator skill.
