REELEX Coiling Machinery

True figure-eight REELEX® coils can only be produced on specially-designed REELEX coiling machines. REELEX Packaging Solutions manufactures and services a complete line of coiling machines suited for every size manufacturer.

All REELEX machines produce the exact same quality coils, but differ in automation level, configuration and production rate.

In addition to coiling machines, REELEX Packaging Solutions also manufactures high-performance ancillary equipment such as accumulators, motorized payoffs and all-in-one product delivery systems designed around the unique REELEX coiling process. These machines are highly recommended for REELEX users to maximize the performance of the REELEX packaging line.

REELEX also has over 40 years of experience in specialty coiling and packaging. From military projects to customized packaging equipment, REELEX has the capability and the knowledge to meet unique demands for unique products. Trade-In Program

As a Licensee, REELEX Packaging Solutions will guarantee the buy back of all used REELEX machines purchased by a Licensee at the original cost of the machine depreciated by a 10% per year, declining balance basis.

This credit can be used towards any open balance, or can be applied towards a new REELEX machine.

Density Software Upgrade

The Density Program software upgrade adds new features and a new wind parameter to existing REELEX coiling machines. This setting, called “variable density” increases the number of crossovers (places where the wire crosses over itself) as the coil builds.

This increases the density of the wind resulting in smaller, denser REELEX coils and potentially reducing package sizes by up to 15%.

G2 Control System

The G2 Control System is a completely new operating system, hardware, cabinet and interface for all REELEX coiling machines. Integrating equipment control with troubleshooting, on-screen manual, packaging calculator, multi-language support, product storage, networking capability and more, the G2 Control system is designed for 21st century industrial environments.

At the heart of the G2 control system is an industrial-pc handling software calculations interfaced by High-Definition 12-inch wide-screen touchscreen HMI programmed in-house.

How Much Does it Cost?

Below is a general idea of costs associated with using REELEX technology with regards to operating REELEX equipment. Please note that while necessary to achieve maximum performance, REELEX-built ancillary machines are not required. The following examples provide pricing for complete REELEX packaging lines. Please note that all prices shown below are estimated and are provided for example only. Please contact us for a quote to suit your application.

The question of how much REELEX equipment costs should be approached by asking three questions:

  1. Are you planning on packaging online (from extruder or other continuous product source), or offline (from a supply reel, drum or similar source that has the freedom of stopping and starting)?
  2. What kind of machine are you looking for? To answer this, compare the machines in the table above.
  3. Will you be renting or purchasing?

Unique Rental Terms

REELEX offers some of the most flexible and unique rental terms in the industry. Unlike other equipment manufacturers that require a minimum term or additional fees, REELEX's terms are simply month-to-month. This flexibility means it is easy to get into REELEX, but also simple to return the equipment if plans change.

  • No minimum terms.
  • Rental is month-to-month.
  • Unique prepayment system:
    • 3-month non-refundable prepayment to secure order.
    • 9-month refundable prepayment due prior to shipping.
    • No payments for 12 months. Rent resumes in month 13.
  • Rent-to-own: 50% of all rent can be applied to purchase equipment.

Purpose-Built

From the ground-up, all REELEX machines are designed and built at our Patterson, NY facility.

Because REELEX Packaging Solutions is the only manufacturer of REELEX coiling machines, every part is designed and manufactured in-house for dependability and performance.

Mandrel, Endforms and Traverse

If the custom-built circuitboards are the electrical heart of the REELEX machine, the mandrels, endforms and traverse are the mechanical muscles.

The unique and precise geometry of the mandrels and endforms is mathmatically derived to place each layer of the coil exactly where it needs to be.

Adjustable Precision

Winding a REELEX coil is an extremely complex operation; which is why the electrical and machanical components of the machine are designed to run in complete harmony while still allowing for flexibility.

Parameters such as holesize, weave ratios, density and hole shift are all adjustable, allowing the coil to be fine-tuned to accomodate varying products.

Adaptability

Most REELEX coiling machines can be customized depending on the customers demands.

Stretch wrapping, spark testing, printing and other capabilities can all be added to existing machinery and control systems, for seemless operation.

Superior Tension Control

One of the keys to precise coiling is tension control. Over 30 years, REELEX machines have improved tension control methods to overcome issues such as electrical performance issues on LAN cables.

Today's buffers are precise, lightweight components specifically designed to put minimal stress on the product while maintaining tension requirements.

Equipment Manuals

The link below will guide you to many of the operation and maintenance manuals we have available for most REELEX machines. Other manuals and schematics are available, including manuals in other languages. Please contact us if you cannot find what you are looking for.

Specialized and Custom Coiling Equipment

Over our 30 years of wire and cable packaging experience, we have also developed specialized equipment for unique and customized applications. For more information on our specialized machinery, please click here.

REELEX also manufacturers traditional Spoolers which are available either as stand-alone machines, or as add-ons to existing REELEX packaging lines.

REELEX Packaging Solutions is also fully committed to supporting all of our older machinery. From the W-250 to D-510, we do our best to keep our machines running; some as much as 25 years or more.
